Luckie J. McDonald is a fiction and non-fiction author based in Columbia, Mississippi, whose stories are shaped by a lifetime of experience and a deep appreciation for history and the American South.
Before becoming an author, Luckie served in the Army National Guard, including two deployments to Iraq and with many stateside deployments, where he continued collecting the experiences and stories that would later influence his writing. He has also worked in law enforcement, spending years serving communities across Mississippi while pursuing a lifelong fascination with forgotten places and even the people who keep those stories alive.
He explores mysteries in the Ozarks and preserves stories passed down through generations that readers will remember for good.
Today, Luckie continues to write books for readers of all ages. His work reflects a lifelong belief that every community holds extraordinary history in unexpected places that you can discover through paying attention. Through his books, he hopes to celebrate the places that shape us and keep legends alive for future generations.
